Don Bosco University is a Christian inspired educational institution, apolitical, not for profit, dedicated to higher education, scientific-technological research, fostering and dissemination of culture. It was founded March 27, 1984. Through its Educational Model, it hopes to have an impact on the social, political and economic context of the Salvadoran society and win a position internationally due to its transcendence of research, teaching, and social projection.

Among some of the programs offered by the faculty of engineering are related to topics such as:  Biomedical, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications engineering, Automation Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering, among others. In the faculty of sciences and humanities, programs are offered among which are: Communication Sciences, Graphic Design, Industrial Design and Products, BA in Foreign Languages Acquisition and BA in Languages with a specialization in Tourism. In the faculty of aeronautics are offered the Technician in Aeronautical Maintenance and aeronautical Engineering programs. Internationalization is a priority area for the university.
